The Zonta Club of Port Lincoln’s newest member Kathleen Lockwood was inducted by president Kaaren Colwell at the group’s September meeting.
She said she was proud to be part of the club.
“I read Hospital on the River and was inspired,” Ms Lockwood said.
“I have been drawn to join Zonta for some time realising that women and girls need health and education support.
“There are issues that Zonta address particularly pertaining to the health of women and girls.”
Men and women are encouraged to join Zonta and be part of a locally operating global organisation that supports women’s health, education and wellbeing.
Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Grand Tasman Hotel, starting at 6.30pm.
All are welcome and for further information contact zontaportlincoln@gmail.com or phone Glenda Millard on 0428 834 444.
The club is grateful for the support of the community and donations during recent events, including the Port Lincoln Long Lunch and International Women’s Day brunch.
