Port Lincoln Ladies Probus Club

Tuesday 30 December, 10am, Port Lincoln Ladies Probus Club’s Happy Chat will be at the Port Lincoln Hotel for an after Christmas chat.

Twilight Races

Port Lincoln Racing Club

Wednesday 31 December, 12pm onwards, headlined by the Old Town Road Country Dance Party, boot-scootin’, line dancin’, keg liftin’ chaos will reign at the track. Mechanical Bull Ride with $2,000+ prize money and best dressed country competition. The kids will be entertained with games and a balloon artist.

New Year’s Eve fireworks

Wednesday 31 December, the family fireworks show will take place at 9.30pm followed by the traditional midnight show. The Royal Flying Doctor Service Port Lincoln Auxiliary’s ‘Flying Donut’ van will be serving donuts at the foreshore until 11.00pm.

Monday 5 January to Friday 30 January, Stock up on your summertime reading at the Port Lincoln Library book sale during January. There is something for everyone – books, music, magazines, children’s picture books, puzzles and more. Proceeds will go towards early learning and literacy resources.

Deeper screening

Port Lincoln Civic Centre

Friday 9 January, 6.30pm, A fundraising event for Matthew Flinders Care Services, be among the first in the region to experience Deeper, a breathtaking new documentary. Featuring an in-person live Q and A with Dr Richard Harris OAM — Australian of the Year — along with local videographer Sam Dawson of South Point Media. Tickets available at eventbrite.com.au.

Friday, 16 January, 7.00pm, Nathan ‘Whippy’ Griggs will hit Dorward Oval with his Guinness World Record-holding whip cracking show. Free entry, ‘Nathan passes his hat for a crust’.

Port Lincoln Weight Watchers

Port Lincoln Weight Watchers meet every Monday from 9am to 11am at Kirton Bowling Club and everyone is welcome to come along. For more information people can contact Rosie Bateman on 0427 854 625 or Anne Cole on 0428 881 760.

Handicraft

South Australian Country Women’s Association

Every Tuesday and Thursday, 10am to 3pm, learn a craft or bring your own project, come for a cuppa and enjoy the fun. A free morning tea is provided, at 7 Hallett Place.

Friday Night Members’ Bar

Every Friday night, Port Lincolnites are invited to the club’s Friday Night Members’ Bar from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Come and catch up with locals, bring a friend, get lucky in the meat tray raffles and enjoy a glass or two with a sausage sizzle.
