Club celebrates Probus Month

Port Lincoln Ladies Probus Club celebrate Probus Month in style.

The club celebrated the month on Tuesday 21 October with a high morning tea.

Two new members were inducted by president Valda Glover.

Glenda Fisher introduced Cheryl Wilson and Christine Roberts introduced Dorothy Puglisi, while the ladies gave a brief talk on their lives.

Two long-term members, Heather Campbell and Betty Hood, were presented honorary member’s awards.

Heather spoke on how the club started, and that there used to be a waiting list after membership reached 120.

A delicious home-cooked morning tea was served on tiered plates with beautiful cups, saucers and plates used by members and visitors.

Several members brought along a few items of different collections for display.

Joy Smith once again had painted her lilies in blue and yellow – the Probus colours – while Marilyn Povey arranged a vase of beautiful flowers on each table.

There was much talking and laughter heard during the morning.

Thanks must go to members who helped with the cooking and plating the food.
