Women from Port Lincoln and Adelaide have joined forces through mutual connection to raise money for Beyond Blue.

Team Hike Hair, Don’t Care! – is made up of 10 women – five from Port Lincoln and five from Adelaide.

Their friendships have formed through school, work, being neighbours or mutual friends, and there are even a couple of sisters and cousins in the mix.

On Thursday, July 5, seven members of the team welcomed 55 local ladies to Lincoln Cinema for the premiere screening of The Materialists.

The Hikers were fortunate to receive generous support from local small businesses, who donated delicious produce and beverages for a beautiful nibbles boat and a welcome glass of bubbles on arrival.

Between ticket sales and lucky squares, Team Hike Hair, Don’t Care! proudly raised $1248 on the night – all going directly to Beyond Blue, supporting mental health awareness and services.

The team is gearing up for the Coastrek Wild Women 2025, a 35-kilometre trek with a 683-metre elevation across the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula.

The group will be setting off bright and early at 6am on Friday, September 5, from Parsons Beach to Port Elliot’s Horseshoe Bay.

To continue the fundraising, the team has an online raffle launching this week, and a bake stall planned for later in August.

The team is passionate about spreading the message that if you are struggling with your mental health, you are not alone – help is available, and talking is the first step.
