The annual Handover Dinner of the Port Lincoln Lions Club was held recently at the Port Lincoln RSL and attended by about 40 Lions members and visitors.

Outgoing president Norm Pope spoke of the challenges over the last few months and the privilege to serve in the club.

Some Lions’ members were recognised for their ongoing service on the night, including Bruce Dearman for his exceptional work on the renovations at the Lions Hostel and Malcolm Bagnell with a special award for 20 years of service in ‘Lions Mints’.

Noel Hampel also received the Melvin Jones Fellowship – Melvin was the founder of Lions Clubs International.

New president Iain Adams gave credit to the work of the previous board, and said he was looking forward to some exciting times, including the opening of a time capsule next month at Port Lincoln Library.
