Tulka Fest raises valuable funds

Tulka Fest – an annual Cancer Council fundraiser organised by Ross Allen – took place on Sunday.

“I’m a beneficiary of good cancer research,” he said.

“I was diagnosed over a decade ago and I’m still going. I just feel the need to regularly, annually if I can, put some money back into the South Australian Cancer Council.

“That’s my motivation.”

The 2025 Tulka Fest featured a car show and shine, as Mr Allen is involved in two local car clubs, and had live music – friends of Mr Allen that donated their time for the event.

“It was about $600 this time, we need a few more people, the more the merrier, it’s a large area at the playground area at Tulka,” Mr Allen said.

“The Tulka Progress Association have a building that has a stage where we can put the musos, with sun shades for the public to come out and enjoy the day.

“We had a few stallholders, it’s a local community event in my mind, for people to get together and have a good time and help out a good cause.”

Head to the Tulka Fest page on the South Australian Cancer Council website if community would like to donate to the cause.
