Port Lincoln Primary School recently received recognition for its outstanding achievement in the Premier’s Reading Challenge at an event in Adelaide late last year.

A result of the Port Lincoln Primary School’s dedication to reading, and in particular Ms Doris Baillie’s hard work in supporting the students with the Premier’s Reading Challenge for many years, the school was formally invited to attend the Premiers Reception in Adelaide on Wednesday, November 22.

Two year 5 students, Ayama Henning and Jonti Lightfoot, were chosen to represent the school and fly to Adelaide for an incredible day out with Cathy Ford.

The reception was held at the Sanctuary Function Centre at Adelaide Zoo.

Highlights of the day were meeting the Adelaide Zoo’s pandas Wang Wang and Funi, as well as Premier Peter Malinauskas and famous authors Mem Fox and Phil Cummings.

As well as visiting the zoo and the Premier’s reception, Ayama and Jonti got to go to Dymocks in Rundle Mall and the State Library.
