The Zonta Club of Port Lincoln recently welcomed its newest member, Wendee Shailer.

Ms Shailer was inducted by president Kaaren Colwell, who explained Zonta is a global organisation that works with the local community to raise awareness of the rights of women and girls, advocating for better health and wellbeing and educational outcomes, fostering understanding and development for women locally and globally.

Cate Harrison from Sanctuary on Eyre made a special guest appearance with Hope the greyhound.

Hope is an amazing dog who offers love and support to everyone she meets.

Hope has strong relationships with students and staff at Port Lincoln High School, who benefit from Hope’s scheduled visits to the school.

Everyone who spends time with Hope, hears her story, experiences her sense of calm and warmth and hearts are lifted – the Hope effect.

Cate shared an insight into her life and her incredible affinity with animals.

Cate’s own strength and tenacity has seen her triumph over adversity and her testimony is witness to her presence and her success in establishing a safe place for animals and people to thrive together.
