Carols on the foreshore took place last week under clear skies, with community members coming out to sing along and soak up the atmosphere.

The Port Lincoln Ministers Association presented the event, with market stalls, food vans and kids’ activities also set up for the night.

Bubbles floated over the crowd as did the smell of hot donuts as vocalists Jo Page, Penny Pienaar, Kylie Jericho and Funmilola Adebowale-Tayo led the choir and community through the Christmas carols.

Some of the familiar festive tunes included The first Noel, Joy to the World, We Three Kings and The Blessing.

The band consisted of Greg Eden on keys, Chris Trenberth on guitar, Chris Atkinson on drums, Eddy Perrotta on bass and lead guitarist Steve Murray.

A few special guests took the stage – Justin Slater on vocals, Jason Ramp on didgeridoo and Bill Kannussaar on saxophone.

The event, held each year on the foreshore lawns, was free for all the community to enjoy. It had been postponed to last Thursday due to the wild weather the weekend prior.
