Retirement village break-ins investigated

Lincoln Grove Retirement Village has had two reported break-ins in the past three months in which wallets and mobile phones were stolen.

A police spokesperson confirmed the incidents, including one in which a woman was at home at the time of the break-in, but was not confronted.

There have also been two attempted break-ins where entry was not gained and another two incidents where unknown persons were seen to enter the rear yards of homes.

Police said forming part of the investigation was whether the six incidents were linked.

The spokesperson said there had been no physical injuries as a result of any of the reported incidents.

Port Lincoln police are actively conducting highly visible patrols of the retirement village to ensure the offences do not reoccur.

Officers have also been engaging with village residents in regards to ensuring homes are secured and locked at all times.

Police are conducting community programs with the residents to assist them in personal security within the village, including personal security audits by police.

The investigation into the reported incidents remains ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.
