The Friends of Parnkalla Trail group was busy on the weekend in its attempts to rehabilitate the trail.
The Port Lincoln group is focused on revegetating parts of the trail with native plants and removing invasive species.
It met on Sunday to plant 50 new plants along the coastline.
The plants used were sourced from Lower Eyre Coast Care, with 50 plants going in at the last working bee in June so that they could establish before the winter months.
Dr Sonia Tidemann recently put in a grant to the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board and the group received money to rehabilitate the area, pulling out Lincoln weed and sour sobs.
The Marine Science Centre had been helpful in the group’s mission and it put a tap in to supply the water for the revegetation efforts.
Dr Tidemann was using her grandfather’s World War I trenching tool to dig up weeds, while other volunteers joined her in going down the shallow decline of the cliff-face.
Dr Tidemann said all were welcome to join and the events were placed in the Port Lincoln Times’ ‘What’s on’ section for upcoming dates and times.
