A Supermoon graced the night skies in Port Lincoln last Wednesday, August 30 and local photographers were out capturing the scene between clouds breezing by.
The second and last full moon for the month, it was within 10 per cent of the closest full moons of the calendar year in terms of proximity to the Earth, likely the closest altogether.
Perigee is the term used when the Moon is at its closest point to Earth in orbit.
