Southern Eyre Bird Club

Wednesday, October 1, 7pm, Southern Eyre Bird Club will host its AGM on Wednesday, October 1 at the Port Lincoln Senior Citizens Hall. The guest presenter is Dr Diane Colombelli-Negrel, a senior lecturer in animal behaviour. Her research includes how prenatal experience shapes postnatal cognition and behavioural fitness in birds. All are welcome to attend – it is going to be an excellent presentation.

Cellar Folk Club

Saturday, October 4, 7.30pm, Join the Cellar Folk Club for live music, sing-a-longs, poetry, stories and free fun. Everybody is welcome, performers and non-performers, at the Baptist Church Cafe, 7 Ravendale Road. Bring some cash for a raffle and ‘munchies’ for the supper break. Takes place on the first Saturday of each month.

Tuesday, October 7, 7.30pm, Charlton WAB will meet to learn from Kylie Malota – a demonstration on how to use defibrillators that can be found around Port Lincoln. Come along to the Senior Citizens clubrooms. Visitors are welcome.

Memory Cafe

Wednesday, October 8, 10am to noon, enjoy showtime for the next Memory Cafe in Cummins RSL Hall. Bring along something that triggers a memory for you and share it with others – it may be a certificate, or a treasure you have collected with a story to tell. View a selection of home movies showing past Cummins Show days. A fun time is assured, and morning tea supplied to judge. This is a free event supported by Cummins Lions Club and Cummins Op Shop.

Friday, October 10, 11am to 2pm, St Thomas’ Tea Rooms is having a mini plant sale, and the CWA is holding a handicraft stall and trading table on the lawns, at the corner of Adelaide Place and Hallett Place. Tea Rooms’ offerings will include soup, barbecue, fresh juices and Devonshire teas. Corner of Adelaide and Hallett place.

Friday, October 10, 7.30pm, come along to the Port Lincoln Bowling Club for a night of quiz, tables of eight people at $10 per head, bring your own nibbles, with tea and coffee available – and the bar will be open. Gardner’s Vineyard

Friday, October 31, 3pm, gates will open for the Candy and Clowns Kidzone and Freaky Funhouse Marquee Maze at 3pm, with a kids costume competition at 5.30pm. From 8pm the scares intensify with an R18+ late-night horror maze experience running until late. All funds raised will support Ronald McDonald House.
