The Port Lincoln community welcomed a new member to its health network in November.
Bringing five years of registered nursing experience, Chanelle “Nellie” Paynting has moved from Adelaide with her partner, 16-month-old son, and two dogs,
Originally from Mildura, Nellie said she was enjoying getting to grips with her new role and new home.
Nellie is thriving in her new role as a Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS) nurse within the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, in Port Lincoln.
“My passion has always been paediatric and neonatal care, and I am loving my new role and new home. It is so different to working in a hospital setting,” she said.
“I’m really enjoying the continuity of care, building rapport and being present with the families.
“My role as a CaFHS Nurse is still very busy. I have so much to learn, but I have received an incredible amount of welcome and support from the team of local dedicated and experienced nurses, and my regional colleagues.”
She said she had taken a liking to Port Lincoln.
“Becoming a mum myself, and attending the local playgroups with my son, has helped me within the role and to learn about the area, which I love – you can see the beach from wherever you are.”
Port Lincoln CaFHS offers child health, development and emotional wellbeing services, help supporting relationships and support for caregiver well being and parenting.
It is located in the Civic Centre and can be contacted on 1300 733 606.
