Hotel Boston up for multiple awards

Hotel Boston is boasting headliner staff including chef Nic Carlson, who recently became a finalist for the 2023 chef of the year for the Australian Hotel Association (AHA) Awards.

Front of house service person Jae Morton has also been listed as an AHA Awards finalist for customer excellence.

Topping it all off, Boston Hotel manager Ryan Voigt has been nominated for the Port Lincoln Chamber of Business and Commerce customer service excellence award and the hotel itself has also been nominated for the tourism and hospitality excellence award.

“Jae’s enthusiasm led him to the front of house, assisting the chef’s in meal prep and cooking as well as filling in for our cleaner,” said Mr Voigt of the 18-year-old all rounder.

“When Jae turned 18 we did not hesitate to place him behind the bar and he began his training in cocktails, pouring beers, barista and meal service.

“His ability to quickly adapt, whilst providing the highest level of customer service gives us the impression his career has only just begun.”

Mr Voigt said Mr Carlson was an exceptionally skilled chef with a passion for his craft in creating amazing food.

“Nic’s passion and creativity has influenced the highly regarded and talked about Hotel Boston menu,” he said.

“Nic takes pride in sourcing local produce and his quality of presentation and flavours are evident with the continual consumer’s positive feedback.”

The 2023 Bendigo Community Bank Port Lincoln Business Excellence Awards will be held on Friday, October 27 and the AHA Awards night will be held on Tuesday, October 31.
